On October 5th, the Seventh Annual CUNY BMI conference, Rock the Vote: The Presidential Election, the Struggle for Voting Rights and the Future of Urban America was held. Ernest R. Heyward, president and founder of the Marketplace for Social Awareness and Social Responsibility, participated in a panel discussion entitled This Little Light of Mine: Fannie Lou Hamer and the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party.
