It has been six months since the launching of the Marketplace for Social Awareness and Social Responsibility. As with any new endeavor, there were lessons to be learned and obstacles to overcome. I'm proud to say that we're still here and we're here to stay. We could not have done it without the support of our readers. On behalf of the Marketplace I thank you. Our stated purpose is to promote and support programs, initiatives, and events that address the needs of African-Americans youth. Our vision is to leverage social media to promote social awareness and social responsibility. We believe that we can create a place where information can be shared, issues discussed, and programs promoted. Sounds good but what does this really mean? In order for the Marketplace to realize its true potential, we're going to need support from you, our readers. Our hope is that the Marketplace inspires you to exchange ideas and engage in meaningful dialogue. Our website has been designed in such a way that every reader can take ownership and be responsible for its growth.
The Marketplace is a working website, which means we expect you to work! Answer polls, facilitate forum discussions, and send pictures and videos. Tell us about your programs and events. We can make this a movement devoted to social issues. It’s up to us. I have committed the Marketplace to focus on a few key topics. These are the ones that I'm most passionate about:
I invite you to share with us topics that are important to you. Thank you again for your continued support as we move towards our next milestone. |
